The Young Women's Resource Center is a place where young women can find answers to their questions and seek help as they experience life's challenges. Our HerStory: Founded in 1978 by the late Louise Noun, and other concerned community leaders, the Young Women's Resource Center exists to help bridge the gap between young women and the larger central Iowa community. Our beloved founder, Louise Noun, was an extraordinary woman; never one to back away from controversy. As a leader in the civil liberties and feminists movements and also a benefactor of the arts, she fearlessly and often took controversial stands. Louise Noun's passion for girls' and women's issues resulted in our unique gender-specific organization that still exists today. Since 1978, the Young Women's Resource Center has been the source of quality programming and guidance for the young women who have come through our doors. Since the death of our founder in 2002, at the age of 94, the Young Women's Resource Center has served thousands of girls with the many programs that we offer. The empowering spirit of Louise Noun lives on through the work that we do. Our Mission
